I Can Have 2 Favourites... Right?

I have 2 favourite posts this week. Well one is more of a supporting favourite, kinda like if you won an Oscar for best female actor and then your friend wins the best supporting female actor award. This is because my favourite post comes from Ruffled , and it is a BEAUTIFUL DIY wedding where the bride literally did all the decor DIY with the help of friends and family. The supporting post comes from One Fab Day and it's on the 10 Essential DIY Supplies to Make DIY a Breeze. So really the 2nd post helps you recreate all the fabulous ideas you will get from the 1st post!

There is something to be said for doing all your own DIY.  As the bride says herself "Everything you see in our wedding was special to us. I antiqued for every single piece, and hand created with help of family and friends every decoration. That’s what made our day so special. Everything in our wedding has a story that we will always remember." (RuffledNot to mention the bride had her dress custom made because she couldn't find her dream dress. So beautiful. Check out the full Handmade Michigan Wedding on Ruffled.

When every element comes from your own hands, your own hard work, your own heart it really does make a wedding personal and that's what a wedding should be.  It should reflect the couple and even though I don't know Allie & Josh, their comments and photos just seem to glow with a genuine sincerity. It's been a while since I pinned so many pictures from one wedding but I did on this Handmade Michigan Wedding and here are a few of my favourites! Thanks to Just Alex Photography for capturing this wedding!

I love the bunting Allie included in her decor and I adore that they can be reused! Who wouldn't want to to keep these for home? What a great keepsake, easy to store and a very sweet reminder of your day. I especially love the bunting with the fabric hung with miniature clothes pegs! So easy to decorate with these! You can also make a ton of different pieces for each holiday, and take them down and replace them for each event- imagine the combinations for Christmas, Easter, Birthday Parties & bringing out the originals for anniversary parties! So special :)

Cute, inexpensive and very easy DIY for table numbers! All that's needed: buttons, needle & thread, fabric & embroidery hoop.

Looking for rustic, chic inspiration? Check out this wedding on Ruffled, the ideas are simple, realistic and beautiful.

OK, now time for the runner up- the supporting favourite! 10 Essential DIY Supplies (by Emily on One Fab Day).  This post is brilliant because it gives you the tools to start your own kit, cheap and cheerful.  Some of the items are a no-brainer for crafters but on the other hand some of them are quite useful for projects that you may haven't embarked on yet but you keep seeing inspirational photos of.  So it is time to get prepared and invest, therefor you can start doing those things you pin, instead of just saying - the next time I'm at the craft store.... Thanks Emily!! (check out her full post here).
